Thanks for your compassionate thoughts on how wobbly our walk of faith can be, despite our best efforts. It brought to mind that our walk of faith in being disciples of Christ will have its stumbles and missteps along the way, even when we think we've learned our lessons. I'm thinking about how Peter was restored by Christ on the beach after breakfast in John 21:1-19, which is such a tender and compassionate passage in Scripture. But Peter went onto stumble again over his hypocrisy, which we find in Galatians 2:11-21 when Paul called him out when he was trying to play both ends against the middle between the Gentiles and Jews. The take away for me is that I will always be struggling with my fallen nature in my walk of faith as a disciple of Christ and from time to time, my hypocrisy will become glaringly evident. But the good news is that Christ's mercy and compassion towards me out weighs my most miserable failures, past, present as well as the ones that will show up in my life in the future.
