Sometimes in prayer, we can wonder “Is God even interested?”
In the world? In us? In me? In my life?
or to say it another way….
Do you view God as a friend or foe of your life?
Do you think the Giver wants to evacuate you from this life or journey with you in it?
When we hear the invitation to co-create, co-habitate, collaborate, cooperate…
then we see this world as the very firmament friendship is experienced.
“If humans could have known God without the world, God would never have created the world.” -Meister Eckhart
Everywhere is an invitation to be together.
And prayer is simply a conversation between friends.
…
Here is a poem that practices this….
Everything is waiting for you by David Whyte
This is a series of images and meditations I put together to “re-image” our idea of what prayer can be. I think we often feel like we fail at prayer because we can’t accomplish the internal image of what we think prayer is (hands clasped on a mountain at sunset for example). I put this altogether in a series of posters called Teach Us To Pray.
