What happens when you get to the end of all that you had envisioned is that you receive a new set eyes.
What happens on the other side of a death of a dream is you receive a new perspective.
What is the power of dying and resurrecting if not a new way of seeing everything?
What needed to die in our dream, our envisioned future ideal, was a life without vulnerabilities.
Most likely when you developed a dream, you left out your vulnerabilities in that dream. You envisioned yourself starting a successful business, but you never imagined who you would have to partner with to raise the capital to make your dream a reality. You envisioned yourself running a marathon, but you never imagined you might have to work with a physical therapist to address a knee problem you’ve been ignoring your whole life. Or like me, you envisioned yourself on a stage performing in some way, but you never imagined the conflict you’d face in leaving your littles at home while you pursued your deepest longing.
Our lives are filled with vulnerabilities. We are vulnerable beings, and it seems that our dreams left that part out of our envisioned ideal. But the path of desire that has been put in us to walk was trailblazed by way of our vulnerabilities. Because our dream has died, we can now envision a new way that involves our vulnerabilities.
In fact, these vulnerabilities may be the missing piece in our unique contribution.
