Fear Sees Comparison. Love Sees You
During a time when I was confronted with a lot of fear, I created a series of hand motion prayers (for my own use) to move from fear to Love.
Beloved,
"What about them?” is the greatest motivation killer of any life.
It also sounds like
"Look how talented they are."
"Look how smart they are."
“Look how perfect they are.”
"Why try? They exist. I'll never be as great as them..."
Fear loves comparison because it allows you to be distracted from the deeper question while your finger is pointed at others. To turn the finger at yourself is a deeply sacred move because it opens the doorway to hear the Voice of Love which asks, “what about you?”
What
About
You.
“What about you?” has the audacity to suggest that you’re not a stranger to this world.
“What about you?” bravely alludes that you have a ticket to this party.
“What about you?” courageously hints that you’re a missing puzzle piece to the bigger picture being put together.
“What about you?” lovingly proposes a secret hidden intention that The Giver wants you to be in the game.
Love sees you.
Fear doesn’t want you to see you because then you’d have to ask all the other questions that make a courageous life:
Am I on purpose or am I a mistake?
Does my life hold any value in the world?
What kind of power do I possess?
What don’t I know about myself?
“What about you” is a trick question from Love. The trick is It already knows the answer. It’s just trying to get you to know the answer too…
…which is you can be a contribution everyday.
From now until forever.
